Head of Marketing (f/t role) – I was the sole marketer at the company, responsible for growing all aspects of the business, attracting both buyers and sellers from around the world. I helped grow the platform to more than 25,000 active users each month, facilitating over $1 billion in procurement opportunities. I ran all aspects of marketing including the blog, podcast, social media accounts, newsletters, webinars, and the analytics and reporting function, and also contributed to all other areas of the business during my tenure, typically working alongside dozens of clients each month.
Report and website content writer, policy and impact communications consultant, and website content strategist and copywriter – I have worked on several projects for this prestigious university including all strategy, planning and content development for the School of Law and Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute (HCRI) websites, creation of course marketing pages, impact case studies, and extensive policy reports, and the development of an internal content management system (CMS) training course for in-house website publishers. This work involved understanding large amounts of technical research and teaching material, staff interviews, and multiple rounds of writing, editing, and publishing support.
Copywriter and content strategist – I supported Agilent with web content projects for many years, starting in 2010. I contributed to major content migrations following M&A activity, website refreshes and systems changes, and on-site subject matter expert interviews and content planning in the UK, Germany, and USA – working alongside in-house website and marketing teams. I completed weekly briefs for new content and strategy initiatives – impacting metadata, hierarchy and messaging across the site, and also planned, wrote, edited, and published hundreds of web pages and documents. I also undertook several training programmes on SEO writing and content management as part of this work.
Document writer, editor, and publishing consultant – I assisted a consortium of several large construction companies with the management, production and finalisation of strategic documents for a major infrastructure project. For the £1.5 billion A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon improvement scheme I worked on the Development Consent Order (DCO) – an extensive statutory consultation processes that results in a high volume of technical documentation which needed to be completed, reviewed and published in a very short timeframe. I worked alongside specialist staff from Jacobs, Mace, Arup, Pinsent Masons and other organisations in this project and my role involved ensuring consistency across all reports, requiring constant contact with project staff, and drafting, editing and formatting material to improve clarity and consistency.
Website content strategist, copywriter, and reporter – the Lister Institute required an updated website to better showcase the breadth and depth of research they support. I worked with a designer to research the field, develop and agree a content strategy, and site setup with the client, and create all new written content. I also produced news articles for the website on a regular basis for several years, based on interviews I held with previous prize recipients on their cutting-edge biomedical work, and attended and reported on the organisation’s annual conference.
Copywriter and content strategist – KIMTECH manufactures high-performance personal protective equipment (PPE) and wiping solutions. KIMTECH is formerly the scientific brand of Kimberly-Clark Professional, now owned by Ansell. I carried out a number of projects for the firm including updating written content on the company website, producing technical white papers and articles, and developing a large volume of product content for a third-party distribution channel.
Document writer, editor, and publishing consultant – I assisted a consortium of several large construction companies with the management, production and finalisation of strategic documents for a major infrastructure project. For the construction of the Silvertown Tunnel (beneath the Thames, in East London) I worked on the Development Consent Order (DCO) – an extensive statutory consultation processes that results in a high volume of technical documentation which needed to be completed, reviewed and published in a very short timeframe. I worked alongside specialist staff from several companies and organisations in this project and my role involved ensuring consistency across all reports, requiring constant contact with project staff, and drafting, editing and formatting material to improve clarity and consistency.

Copywriter and content strategist – I assisted this UK-based biotech firm with several marketing tasks including the production of a white paper, and infographic, and a number of website articles. This required getting to grips with the science involved and interviewing subject matter experts, and I also advised on online content strategy and presentation.
Various roles and projects – I worked alongside this active agency to deliver communications projects for public and private sector clients. I led many projects, often collaborating with UK universities, EU-funded research projects, and a variety of businesses, working autonomously to manage all aspects of client relationships and project delivery.
Report writer and publishing strategist – In 2012 I created a template paper for the European Brain Council on the economic cost of brain disorders in Europe. The Council required a detailed overview paper giving the background and motivation for this important area of research that could be adapted for use in different countries and territories. I used a large existing dataset and extensive source material to create the paper for the client.
